He studied investigative journalism at Columbia University's renowned School of Journalism in New York before studying screen-writing and feature film-making with veteran Czech director, Milos Forman.
On his return to the UK he directed many highly acclaimed, award-winning films for Channel 4, ITV and the BBC. His work ranges across a wide spectrum of genres. Some of his better-known works are:
